The graduate of the Sofia Vocational High School of Tourism and Foundation Uccelin, who will soon join Central – the restaurant designated as N:1 in the world for 2023, is embarking with all his energy on GastronomiX 2025, within the framework of the SIHRE horeca exhibition. The Forum for High Culinary Arts is organized by Inter Expo Center and the Bulgarian Association of Professional Chefs, and AVA-M is a main partner.

Even more exciting is that the 25-year-old culinary wizard will immerse us in his vision of Mediterranean cuisine. Because he is one of the virtuosos who are included in the theme “The Mediterranean – a sea of ​​flavors”, co-organized by the Guild of Professional Chefs of Greek Gastronomy, with the exclusive help of Executive Chef Stilianos Dingas.

Chef Hristo Filyov – two-time “Best Chef of Bulgaria”

To reach his high professional level, Chef Hristo Filyov has come a long way, putting all his energy into cooking. After graduating from the Bulgarian State University of Gastronomy, he worked at the Marinela Hotel under the leadership of Petar Nikolov and Andrey Stoilov. From an intern there, he rose to executive sous chef. Then he joined the team of Zornitza family estate Relais & Chetaux, under the leadership of Chef Vesselina Kalev.

“And in 2023 I had the opportunity to travel through the Swiss Foundation for the Development of Young Talents in Gastronomy – Foundation Uccelin,” shares the top chef. “Thanks to the foundation, I had the opportunity to work and gain experience in some of the best restaurants in the world such as: Central, Frantzen, Hotel de Ville and Schloss Schauenstein,” adds the Bulgarian.

In his career, Chef Hristo Filyov has won the awards “Best Chef of Bulgaria” and “Best Culinary Team” twice and once the best young chef of Bulgaria. He has also represented Bulgaria as a chef at the European qualifications of Bocuse d’or. And what will Chef Hristo Filyov conquer us with at GastronomiX 2025? What concept will he present on the theme “The Mediterranean – a sea of ​​flavors”? We are yet to find out. The forum for haute cuisine will conquer Sofia from February 18 to 21.
