Kärcher launches a range of robust battery-powered devices for professional users – from the lawnmower to the leaf blower through to the chain saw. The series of innovative products will be introduced at the SIHRE 2020 exhibition.
Cordless power for professionals
Mowing and hedge trimming in parks, removing leaves on large squares or cutting branches and trees after storms. Kärcher now has a solution for these tasks: As part of the “Kärcher Battery Universe”, the cleaning specialist launches a range of robust battery-powered devices on the market – from the lawnmower to the leaf blower through to the chain saw. The cordless “Outdoor Power Equipment” for professional users includes a total of eight powerful 36 V products: leaf blower, chain saw, lawnmower, lawn trimmer, hedge shears, strimmer, multi-tool and backpack leaf blower. Municipalities, building companies, building service contractors, gardening and landscaping contractors and farmers benefit from flexible application possibilities, as work can be done completely independently of the power supply.
Maximum flexibility for users
The search for sockets and the tedious job of winding and unwinding the cable are now a thing of the past with the use of the battery-powered machines. At the same time, there are also fewer tripping hazards with the disappearance of the cable. Apart from the occupational safety, the efficiency also increases: Users save considerable work time. All products in the range are operated by 36 V Battery Power+ batteries with a capacity of 6.0 Ah or 7.5 Ah.
Minimal costs for operation and maintenance
The new battery-powered “Outdoor Power Equipment” is very efficient: For instance, the professional devices generate less operating costs compared to petrol-operated models. Thanks to the robust materials, as well as the safe electronics and fixed connections, they are resistant to impacts and vibrations. For example, the steel mowing deck and high-quality ball-bearing wheels for the Kärcher battery-powered lawnmower LM 530/36 Bp or the brush knife of the battery-powered strimmer BCU 260/36 Bp made from hardened steel ensure a long service life. The maintenance costs are also much lower than for petrol-operated counterparts. The battery-powered chain saw CS 400/36 Bp has automatic lubrication, which reduces the maintenance effort considerably. The chain can also be quickly retensioned or changed using a combination wrench. The tool is located at the bottom of the machine and can be easily removed as required – no more time-consuming searching for tools.
Friendly and convenient for the environment and user
The new products are very quiet and therefore suitable for work at night or in noise-sensitive areas, which are heavily frequented by the public. For example, the battery-powered chain saw from Kärcher is much quieter than a petrol-operated model, which has an impact on the perceived volume level. With no exhaust emissions and reduced vibrations, the products are user-friendly, specially in long-term use, as signs of fatigue do not occur as quickly. With the use of the Kärcher battery-powered leaf blower LB 930/36 Bp, the vibration is reduced considerably compared to petrol-operated models.
Apart from the reduced weight of the machines, ergonomic or rotatable handles, as well as an innovative carrying system, for example for the battery-powered hedge shears HT 650/36 Bp, ensure convenient and fatigue-free work. With the battery-powered lawnmower, the driving or operating speed can be individually adapted to the user’s requirements – this saves power and energy.
Kärcher Battery Universe
The “Kärcher Battery Universe” includes two battery platforms with a continuously growing number of machines ranging from the high-pressure cleaner to the leaf blower through to the multipurpose vacuum cleaner. Both the compact 18 V batteries and the powerful 36 V batteries are available in different capacities in order to cover a wide field of application. Special feature: The batteries are compatible with all Kärcher machines of the same voltage class, whether they belong to Home & Garden or the Professional range. A unique selling point of all Kärcher batteries is the LCD display with real-time technology, which also accurately displays the remaining runtime and charge time in minutes in addition to the remaining battery capacity. The housing of the batteries is very shock-resistant and protected against dust and spray water in accordance with protection class IPX5. Thanks to efficient temperature management, the batteries also deliver an optimal performance in intensive applications, intelligent cell monitoring protects against overloading, overheating and deep discharge. If a machine is not operated for an extended period, the processor-controlled, automatic warehouse mode of the Battery Power battery ensures a long life of the cells.
